How ReFloat Works

The salvage auction market has a massive information gap. We close it — so buyers get real value, not a gamble.

01

Source from Insurance Auctions

We buy from insurance auctions — boats with hail damage, cosmetic issues, or mechanical problems. Sometimes structural components that need full replacement. Whatever the damage, it's documented and disclosed, not buried.

02

Inspect & Repair What Matters

Hull, motor, trailer, interior. We fix what affects function and safety. Cosmetic scars that don't matter to a lake boat stay documented, not disguised.

03

Price It Right

We're not dealers padding margin. Salvage buy-in is lower, and we pass that through. You pay for a working boat — not a showroom story.

04

Full Transparency on Every Sale

Damage history, what was repaired, what wasn't, photos from the lot. You get the same info we used to decide to buy it.

Locally Owned, Built Around the Water

ReFloat Boats is a small, locally owned and run operation out of central Minnesota. Like most Minnesotans, I grew up outdoors and on the water — it's what I love, it's what I do.

Also like a lot of people, I love a deal. That was the inspiration for the core of the business: finding damaged boats with great bones, fixing what needs to be fixed, and passing the savings on so more people can get out on the water.

  • Based in Wayzata, MN
  • Every boat gets the same inspection I'd give something I was keeping
  • Damage history and repair notes shared upfront, every time
  • If I wouldn't put my family on it, it doesn't leave the lot
Launching After Spring 2026

Marine Lot Inspection Reports

Remote bidding on salvage boats is a gamble. Generic auto inspectors miss everything that matters — hull seam integrity, transom rot, lower unit corrosion, pontoon log condition. We're building a dedicated marine inspection service for auction lot buyers.

You're bidding from Texas on a Fargo lot. We're already there. We'll sell you the same report we used to make our own bidding decision — nothing withheld.

  • Pre-Bid Condition Reports Hull, motor, trailer, interior — photographed and scored before the gavel drops
  • Full Conflict Disclosure We're active buyers in this market. You'll know that upfront — and you'll get the same intel we use
  • Upper Midwest Coverage Minneapolis, St. Cloud, Fargo, Sioux Falls — lots we're already running for our own inventory

Drop your email to get notified when inspection reports go live.

What Gets Checked

  • Pontoon log seam & weld integrity
  • Damage type (hail / fire / flood / collision)
  • Trailer GVWR, hitch & title status
  • Photo documentation, moisture readings
  • Repair cost estimate & resale range
  • Deck, fence, upholstery & electronics
